I'm Jessica Pucci. I'm an Ethics & Excellence Professor of Practice at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, where I evangelize ethics, engagement and analysis. Prior to higher ed, I was an editor at the content agency Manifest, spearheading audience-driven brand journalism on behalf of Delta Faucet and Bed Bath & Beyond; before that, I was the managing editor of DRAFT Magazine. As a freelancer, I've written for Robb Report, HGTV Magazine, Arizona Bride and more. I hold a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (go Badgers!) and a master's in journalism from the University of Missouri, where I focused on media management and researched the ethics of print versus digital journalists. I'm a Chicago native, wannabe Wisconsinite and Phoenix transplant. I'm good at shuffleboard and dessert.

What I do: Content development and packaging from soup to nuts: story/project planning, research, market editing, writing, copyediting, collaborating with art and photography teams, proofreading, sharing.

The goal: Sharp, concise yet well-researched and solidly written stories built for how readers interact with content today. That means not just "a story," but a story plus sidebars plus digital extensions plus social media messaging.

Styles I know: AP, APA, Chicago Manual, New York Times.

Programs I know:
InDesign, InCopy, Quark, Acrobat Pro, WordPress, custom CMS platforms. Basic Dreamweaver and FinalCut. Google Analytics. Hootsuite, TweetDeck, Divvy, several social media analytics programs.

Re. copyediting: I accept both quick-turnaround and long-lead-time copyediting projects, from blogs to academic texts. I offer thorough developmental and line editing, proofreading and everything in between. Contact me for per-project rates.

Re. social media: I can plan and execute your social media outreach. A solid social media strategy begins with a thorough analysis of your audience and its interactions with you; the data drives custom content and scheduling. Contact me for rates.
